The tenth meeting of the board of directors of Sammilito Islami Bank, the state-owned Shariah-based bank formed through the merger of five banks, was held recently. The meeting, held at the merged Exim Bank Tower, was chaired by the bank’s chairman, Kazi Sayrul Hasan. The bank disclosed the information in a statement.
The statement said the meeting was also attended by other members of the bank’s board of directors, including Hafiz Ahmed Chowdhury, Secretary of the Legislative Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs; Mohammad Rashedul Amin, Joint Secretary of the Finance Division of the Ministry of Finance; Sheikh Farid, Joint Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance; directors Md Khan Subayel Bin Rafiq, Asma Akhtar, K M Zakaria, and Mohammad Ahsan Habib Chowdhury; along with Sammilito Islami Bank Managing Director Abedur Rahman Sikder, Union Bank Administrator Mohammad Abul Hashem, Global Islami Bank Administrator Md Moksedujjaman, and Acting Company Secretary Md Monirul Islam.
The meeting reviewed the bank’s current condition and discussed steps needed to move the bank forward. Various investment proposals were also approved during the session.
