Trading at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main bourse, ended with all price indices higher on Tuesday. Through 356,667 trades, a total of 46.5 crore (about 465.02 million) shares and mutual-fund units of 393 companies changed hands. Total turnover on the day stood at Tk 1,651.29 crore. Of the securities traded, 199 rose in price, 137 fell and 57 remained unchanged.
At the close, the DSE’s benchmark index, the DSEX, stood 44.69 points higher than the previous session at 5,911.24 points. The DS-30 index rose 24.01 points to 2,227.10, and the DSE Shariah index (DSES) rose 10.24 points to 1,207.04.
The top 10 companies by turnover were Toufika Food, BSCC, Malek Spinning, LafargeHolcim Bangladesh, IPDC Finance, BRAC Bank, Asiatic Laboratories, BSRM Steels, Summit Alliance Port and Eastern Housing. The top 10 gainers were Aman Feed, Apex Tannery, Far Chemical, GQ Ballpen, Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag, Al-Haj Textiles, BSRM Steels, Fu-Wang Ceramic, Silva Pharmaceuticals and Desh General Insurance, while the top 10 losers were Intraco Leasing, Peoples Leasing, Meghna Insurance, Premier Leasing, DBH First Mutual Fund, NCC Bank Mutual Fund-1, Sunlife Insurance, Sonar Bangla Insurance, Nahee Aluminium Composite Panels and Continental Insurance.
