Efforts are under way to normalise relations between Delhi and Dhaka. Amid this, the head of India’s external intelligence agency, RAW, Parag Jain, has come to Bangladesh on an official visit. He landed at Shahjalal International Airport on an Air India flight around midday on Sunday.
A diplomatic source said Parag Jain was leading a four-member high-level delegation on the visit, at the invitation of Bangladeshi authorities. Neither country has officially said anything about the visit.
Parag Jain serves as secretary of RAW, the Research and Analysis Wing, and also as special secretary of the Special Protection Group (SPG). Accompanying him on the Dhaka visit are Ashwin Mukund Kotnis, Rahul Negi and Saibal Roy Chowdhury.
Before coming to Bangladesh, Parag Jain visited China, the source added.
