Israel’s main objective in further stoking the ongoing conflict in the Middle East is to drag the United States and NATO into the war, a senior Russian military official has claimed.
In an interview with Russia’s state news agency TASS, Apty Alaudinov, commander of Russia’s Akhmat Special Forces and deputy head of the army’s Main Military-Political Directorate, said the situation in the Middle East would grow even more heated in the days ahead.
He said: “We need to understand that the war in the Middle East will expand further. I believe this is Israel’s core objective: to escalate the conflict as much as possible and drag in the United States and the entire NATO alliance.”
He added: “In the end, they [Israel] will overestimate their own strength, and their existence as a state will come to an end.”
