Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has launched a special cleanliness drive to ensure a clean environment and a well-kept city.

The drive was carried out on Tuesday (11 August) morning in the area from Octroi Mor (by the RUET wall) to the flyover.

It was conducted as part of regular citywide cleanliness work, on the instructions of RCC administrator Md Mahfuzur Rahman Riton.

During the drive, weeds growing in various places on roads and footpaths were cleared, and mud and rubbish that had built up on the roads were removed, along with soil and refuse clogging the mouths of drains.

The RCC said such work not only ensures the cleanliness of roads and footpaths but also helps maintain the normal flow of water in the drainage system.

The corporation’s public relations department said such special cleanliness drives would continue in order to ensure the city’s cleanliness and appearance and the normal movement of residents.

RCC deputy chief cleanliness officer Selim Reza Ranju, the monitoring officer (mosquito control) and cleanliness supervisors were present during the drive.
