Children of journalist families in Jashore have secured creditable results in the 2026 SSC examinations. Some achieved GPA-5, some a golden GPA-5 and some satisfactory results, and they voiced their determination to move towards their dreams. Their success has brought joy among families, teachers and well-wishers.

Jihan An Nur Rakib secured GPA-5, sitting the SSC exam from BAF Shaheen College, and wants to become a skilled architect and contribute to the country’s development. Jihan is the only child of Rakib Hossain Swapan — a member of Press Club Jashore and the Jashore Journalists’ Union and a staff reporter of the daily Subarnabhumi — and banker Monika Parvin Chowdhury.

Kazi Sadia Mehezabin, a student of Jashore English School and College, secured GPA-5. She is the daughter of Press Club Jashore member Kazi A N M Nuruzzaman; her mother, Selina Akter, is a government employee. Sadia said her goal was to become a doctor and devote herself to serving people.

Sabidur Reza Khan secured a golden GPA-5 in the science group from Jashore Zilla School. The son of Jashore Journalists’ Union member Abidur Reza Khan and Nazmun Nahar, he wants to become an engineer and play a part in the country’s development through higher education.

Mostanur Rahman Sakkhor secured a satisfactory result in the science group from Jashore Zilla School. He is the son of Golam Mostafa — a former joint secretary of the Jashore Journalists’ Union and a staff reporter of the daily Subarnabhumi — and Nurjahan Ara Niti. Sakkhor said his greatest dream was to establish himself as a good person.

Sadia Shabnam Saroni passed the SSC exam from Jashore Border Guard Public School. She is the daughter of Shahid Joy, a former president of the Jashore Journalists’ Union, and the late Shamima Akter Swapna. Saroni’s father said that although her mother had died on 30 December, Saroni had turned that deep grief into strength and continued her studies, achieving this success with the help of teachers, relatives and well-wishers.

The success of these talented students from journalist families has also brought joy among fellow journalists, who expressed the hope that the fulfilment of their dreams would make an important contribution to the country and society.
