Myanmar air strike on Rakhine market kills 49

Myanmar’s air force has bombed a market in the western town of Kyauktaw in Rakhine state, killing at least 49 people and wounding 58.

In a statement on Monday, the Arakan Army said a military aircraft dropped two bombs on the market in Kyauktaw that day, killing 49 people and wounding 58. At least 22 of the wounded are in critical condition. All the dead and wounded were civilians: traders with temporary stalls in the market, permanent shopkeepers and passers-by.
