Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called the understanding between the United States and Iran a “historic step on the path to peace.” The agreement will be signed in Geneva on June 19, and Pakistan will host the signing ceremony.
Addressing Pakistani lawmakers, he said: “The world has seen a historic step on the path to peace. After the darkness of war, the sun of peace has risen.”
Shehbaz Sharif also said Pakistan would host the long-awaited Iran-US signing ceremony in Geneva, Switzerland.
Congratulating the nation and the international community, he told the National Assembly: “This signing ceremony will take place in Geneva on Friday, June 19, a sacred day, and Pakistan will be the host.”
He further said Washington had agreed to halt hostilities on all fronts, including Tehran and Lebanon.
