Young man electrocuted while doing masonry work in Mirsharai

A young man identified as Nur Alam, 28, died of electrocution while doing masonry work on a building rooftop in Mirsharai, Chattogram. The accident occurred around noon on Thursday, August 27, in the Bishumiarhat area of Jorarganj union in the upazila.

Nur Alam was the son of Jamshed Ali, of the Modhyom Sonapahar area in Ward 8 of Jorarganj union.

Locals said Nur Alam worked various jobs to make a living — sometimes as a mason, sometimes as a decoration helper, and sometimes as a factory laborer. He was electrocuted and died on the spot Thursday morning while doing masonry work on a building rooftop in the Bishumiarhat area. Local residents recovered his body and took him to Mirsharai Upazila Health Complex, where the on-duty physician examined him and declared him dead.

Local resident Ariful Islam Emon said Nur Alam did different kinds of work at different times, and was always helpful to others.

Shubhra, the on-duty physician at Mirsharai Upazila Health Complex, said a young man who had been electrocuted was brought to the hospital, and was declared dead after examination.
