A protest march has been held in Maheshpur, Jhenaidah, jointly organised by Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal as part of the activities of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its associate organisations.
The march set off from the Maheshpur college bus stand at around 5pm on Monday (September 28), went around the main roads of the bazar and ended peacefully back at the bus stand.
Marchers protested against what they called anarchy and violent activities by the banned Bangladesh Awami League and the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League, and chanted various slogans.
Present were Maheshpur upazila Jubo Dal convener Haji Faisal and member secretary Abdullah Al Faruk Babu, upazila Chhatra Dal convener Kamruzzaman Ratan and member secretary Abdul Malek, upazila Swechchhasebak Dal convener Sheikh Ershad Ali and member secretary Suruzzaman Suruj, upazila Tanti Dal member secretary Babul Akter Babul and upazila Sramik Dal president Jahangir Alam, along with leaders and activists of the BNP and its associate organisations at various levels.
