Coming to the later part of her life, the legendary Bengali film actress Bobita wants to do work that benefits society. It is from that thought that the National Film Award-winning actress has taken up a plan to build a beautiful mosque on her ancestral homestead in her home district of Jashore.

She said she had recently travelled to Bijoynagar in Jashore, her birthplace, with her elder sister Suchanda and younger sister Champa, and had finalised the land for the mosque. “This time I went to my ancestral home and looked at land for the mosque. I have finalised the land. It gives me great peace. I feel the Creator is giving me a chance to do a good deed. I want to build a very beautiful mosque,” she told the media.

At this stage of her life, her greatest wish is to build a mosque. The legendary actress also prayed that God would grant her the ability to carry out this noble undertaking successfully.

Bobita said: “One day everyone has to leave this world. Since there is birth, there will one day be death. So before departing, I want to do one good deed. Very soon I will have the mosque designed. Then I will slowly begin the work. Please pray for me.”

After the National Film Awards were introduced in 1975, this silver-screen actress won the best actress award three times in a row. She was also given the National Film Award for lifetime achievement in 2016 and the Ekushey Padak in 2026.
