South Korea has expressed strong interest in investing in Bangladesh’s electronics manufacturing and technology sectors. The two sides also discussed various ways to further strengthen economic and development cooperation, a statement said.
South Korea’s ambassador to Bangladesh, Gi-jun Kim, conveyed the interest during a courtesy call on Humayun Kabir, the prime minister’s foreign affairs adviser, at the Prime Minister’s Office in Dhaka on Wednesday.

At the meeting, the ambassador praised Bangladesh’s rapid economic progress and its investment-friendly environment.
He outlined South Korea’s interest in investing in Bangladesh’s electronics manufacturing and technology sectors. He also expressed interest in expanding cooperation in renewable energy, information technology, manufacturing and other promising sectors.
The two sides discussed various ways to deepen bilateral ties, placing particular emphasis on trade, investment, technology, industrialization, infrastructure development, human resource development and skills enhancement.
Kabir praised the growing economic and development partnership between Bangladesh and South Korea. He stressed the need to further strengthen trade and investment, technology transfer and industrial cooperation.
He welcomed South Korea’s substantial investment in Bangladesh and assured the government’s full cooperation to make such investment easier.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining close cooperation on matters of mutual interest. They also expressed optimism that Bangladesh-South Korea relations would reach new heights.
