Iran has the full capability to keep up missile attacks at the same pace and intensity as before even if a fight with the enemy drags on for years, according to an adviser to the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force.
In an interview with Fars News Agency, Brigadier General Ali Belali said the country’s armed forces now carry out every operation in a very powerful and planned way, with the main aim of teaching the enemy that the days of getting away with unprovoked attacks are over for good.
Comparing past and present, he said that during the Iran-Iraq war the country’s missile stock was very limited, and the weapons were so expensive that the full cost could not be borne, so missiles had to be fired one at a time to sustain the war. That limitation no longer exists, he said: despite sanctions and blockades, Iran now makes drones, missiles and other military equipment entirely with domestic technology.
Belali added that while the enemy has recently carried out only limited attacks, Iran has responded far more strongly. The country’s military strength is now so solid that the days of hit-and-run are over, and Iran is ready to fight on equal terms in any prolonged conflict, he said.
