Intruders cut through the corrugated-iron roof of a house and killed a housewife in Fulgazi, Feni. The incident happened on Friday (26 June) night in the Dakshin Talbaria area of Amjadhat union in the upazila.

The victim was Kajol Akter, 26, wife of Nurul Amin, a Kuwait-based expatriate from Dakshin Talbaria.

According to the victim’s relatives and police sources, at some point on Friday night intruders cut through the corrugated-iron roof of the semi-built house and entered. It is initially suspected that they then bound the expatriate’s wife, Kajol Akter, hand and foot, struck her on the head and throat and killed her. Her three children were asleep in the house at the time.

The victim’s brother-in-law, Master Ismail, came out of the house to offer the Fajr prayer, heard a groaning sound and cried out. People in the house then informed police. On receiving the news, police reached the scene, recovered the body and sent it to Feni Modern Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.

Fulgazi police station officer-in-charge MM Mizanur Rahman said the cause of the brutal killing was being looked into, and that operations to identify and arrest those involved were continuing.
