New navy chief pays courtesy call on prime minister

The newly appointed chief of the Bangladesh Navy, Vice Admiral Khondkar Misbah ul Azim, has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.

The courtesy call took place at the Prime Minister’s Office today, Saturday, July 25.

During the meeting they exchanged views on the country’s maritime security, raising the navy’s professional capacity, the modernisation of the force and various related matters.

The prime minister praised the navy’s role in protecting the country’s sovereignty and the force’s professionalism.

He also wished the newly appointed navy chief every success in discharging his responsibilities.
