U.S. President Donald Trump said Iran would face “hell” if it tried to acquire nuclear weapons.
He made the remark to reporters at the G-7 summit held in France.
Trump said the Iran agreement clearly stated that Tehran would not possess any nuclear weapons. “If the Islamic Republic of Iran tries to acquire nuclear weapons, then hell will come down on the country,” he said.
“The only important thing to me is that Iran will never possess nuclear weapons, and they are saying so loudly and clearly,” he added.
Trump made the comments at a news conference in France with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
