A 13-year-old schoolboy, Maruf Alam, has been missing for three days in Sunamganj’s Shantiganj upazila.
Maruf, a fifth-grader at Chandrapur Primary School, is the son of businessman Achir Alam and Samiya Begum of Chandrapur (Konarbari) village in West Pagla union.
His father said that on the morning of Friday, 31 July, Maruf opened his father’s shop and stayed there for a while; when his father arrived, he sent Maruf home for Jummah prayers. Around 2pm, Maruf went from their new house to nearby Chandrapur School to watch a game. He did not return home even after the game ended.
The family filed a general diary at Shantiganj police station on 31 July.
According to the family, the boy has a dark complexion and is 4 feet 3 inches tall; on the day he went missing he was wearing a pink shirt and jeans. Anyone with information is asked to contact Shantiganj police station or the family.
Contacted by phone, Shantiganj police station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Oliullah said: “The family has filed a general diary. We are treating this with great importance and our efforts to find the missing boy are ongoing.”
