A stone-laden truck lost control and crashed into a roadside house in Naldi village, Lohagara upazila, Narail, late Sunday night (July 6), killing a 14-year-old girl and injuring her 12-year-old sister as they slept. The elder sister, an eighth-grade student, died on the spot. The younger sister, a sixth-grade student, was treated at Narail District Hospital and later released. Both were students at the local BSS Madhyamik School.
Family members said the two sisters had eaten dinner and gone to bed. Around 12:30am, the truck — registered as Khulna Metro-শ 11-0502 — took a wrong turn onto a narrow canal-side road in Naldi. It lost control near their father’s house, and rocks from the truck fell onto the sleeping girls.
Lohagara Police Station Investigation Officer Ajit Kumar Roy said the truck was seized but the driver and his assistant fled the scene.
