Power Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku said there is currently no option other than counting the days and managing load-shedding until repairs to the floating LNG terminal, or FSRU, are completed.
Speaking online at an event organized by the Centre for Policy Dialogue, he said engineers were working to fix the FSRU. He said the ministry could manage supply to reduce load-shedding and provide gas to industry, but had no other immediate tools. He added that Bangladesh plans to install three new floating LNG terminals by 2029.
