Iceland’s PM says she was moved by the call to prayer in Turkey

Icelandic Prime Minister Kristrun Frostadottir has praised the tolerance, warm hospitality and religious atmosphere of Turkey’s Muslim people during a visit to the country. In a post on the social-media platform X (formerly Twitter), she said the tolerance of Turkey’s Muslims had impressed her and that they had welcomed her very warmly.

“I really liked the sound of the azaan; there is a deep and heart-touching melody in it,” she said. Referring to the warm reception and positive experience she had had in Turkey, the Icelandic prime minister added that she would visit the country again very soon.
