Trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main bourse, ended with a sharp fall in the index. The benchmark DSEX fell 18.73 points to close at 5,531.65.
On Thursday, 229,693,572 shares and units of 385 companies and mutual funds changed hands on the DSE, with turnover of about Tk 723.11 crore. The DS30 fell 4.89 points to 2,103.55 and the DSE Shariah index (DSES) fell 2.23 points to 1,100.26. Of the issues traded, 85 gained, 242 declined and 58 were unchanged.
The top 10 by turnover were IPDC Finance, Malek Spinning, Paramount Textile, Saiham Textile, Sharp Industries, Dominage Steel, Saiham Cotton, Evince Textiles, Envoy Textiles and Argon Denims.
The top 10 gainers were Tung Hai Knitting, Dominage Steel, Samata Leather, Peoples Leasing, Bangladesh Autocars, Argon Denims, Premier Leasing, Saiham Textile, a 20-year Bangladesh Government Treasury Bond and Apex Tannery.
The top 10 losers were IPDC Finance, Prime Finance First Mutual Fund, CAPM IBBL Islamic Mutual Fund, Sharp Industries, Sonargaon Textiles, National Polymer, Islami Commercial Insurance, a 15-year Bangladesh Government Treasury Bond, Paramount Textile and a 15-year BGTB (EME).
