Trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended on a mixed note on Sunday, the first working day of the week. The main price index, DSEX, edged up slightly, but the DS-30 and the DSES Shariah index fell. Total turnover stood at 1,257 crore (12.57 billion) 62 lakh 33 thousand taka.
According to DSE sources, 51 crore 43 lakh 32 thousand 217 shares and units of 387 companies and mutual funds changed hands during the day.
At the close, the DSEX index rose 0.20 points from the previous working day to stand at 5,895.78 points. The DS-30 index fell 3.89 points to 2,213.34 points, and the DSES Shariah index fell 2.63 points to 1,192.61 points.
Of the firms traded, the prices of 193 shares and units rose, 149 fell and 45 remained unchanged.
The 10 companies at the top of turnover were Malek Spinning, ACI Formulations, Asiatic Laboratories, Beximco, Summit Alliance Port, ITC, Sharp Industries, Coppertech Industries, IPDC Finance and Shahjibazar Power Company.
The top gainers were Green Delta Mutual Fund, Prime Insurance, Queen South Textile, ICB Sonali Bank First Mutual Fund, Golden Jubilee Mutual Fund, Capitec Grameen Bank Growth Fund, ICB Employees Mutual Fund-1 (Scheme-1), LR Global Mutual Fund-1, EBL First Mutual Fund and ICB Third NRB Mutual Fund.
The top losers were S Alam Cold Rolled Steels, BIFC, Sena Insurance, Union Capital, Mercantile Bank, Orion Infusion, GQ Ballpen, Apex Spinning, Sonargaon Textiles and Anlima Yarn Dyeing.
At the close of trading, the total market capitalisation of the Dhaka Stock Exchange stood at 7,06,114 crore 76 lakh 33 thousand 248 taka.
