DSE index rises, turnover hits 1,197 crore taka

Trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended higher on the week’s final session. A total of 438,328,313 shares and mutual fund units of 396 companies were traded on the DSE on Thursday. Total turnover stood at 1,197 crore taka (about 1,197.21 crore taka, or roughly US$98 million).

According to the DSE on Thursday, June 18, the benchmark DSEX index rose 39.76 points from the previous session to 5,661.38 points. The DSE-30 index gained 30.7 points to 2,143.12 points, and the DSE Shariah index (DSES) rose 14.5 points to 1,150.47 points.

Of the companies traded, 176 gained, 185 fell and 35 remained unchanged.

The top 10 companies by turnover were Beximco Pharma, Summit Alliance Port, IPDC, Robi Axiata, NCC Bank, National Feed, BD Thai, BRAC Bank, BD Thai Food and Apex Spinning.

The top 10 gainers were First Janata Mutual Fund, Trust Bank First Mutual Fund, LR Global Mutual Fund-1, Green Delta Mutual Fund, Apex Spinning, IFIC Bank First Mutual Fund, Crown Cement, ABL First Mutual Fund, MBL First Mutual Fund and NCC Bank Mutual Fund-1.

The top 10 losers were Shyampur Sugar, Beximco Limited, Regent Textile, Peoples Leasing, Meghna Condensed Milk, BD Thai Food, Aziz Pipes, Meghna PET, Summit Alliance Port and Newline.
