US President Donald Trump has threatened to attack a suspected Iranian nuclear facility. Targeting the site named “Pickaxe Mountain,” he said, “Tell the Iranians to be ready.” The information came from a report by Zaid Sabah.
What is the Pickaxe Mountain that Trump has threatened? Pickaxe Mountain, known locally as “Kuh-e Kolang Gaz La,” is located near Iran’s severely damaged Natanz uranium-enrichment center. There are two tunnel complexes deep underground in this mountain. Experts believe the tunnels have been built so deep underground that even America’s most powerful “bunker-buster,” or earth-penetrating, bombs cannot reach them. Citing analysts, US media including The Washington Post have said the facility may be part of Tehran’s nuclear program.
Earlier, on the “Hugh Hewitt Show,” Trump said the United States was closely monitoring the facility. “We don’t see any activity there. Their nuclear situation is not good. Whenever we hear about it [nuclear activity], we blow it up. So they don’t like to talk about it. But we will strike Pickaxe very soon,” Trump said.
