Coast Guard recovers arms, ammunition in Teknaf raid

The Coast Guard recovered bulletproof jackets, helmets, ammunition, and a local weapon during a joint operation in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar, according to a press statement by Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan, the media officer of the Coast Guard, on Tuesday afternoon.

He said that acting on a tip-off, the joint operation was conducted by the Teknaf Coast Guard Station and RAB in the Ledha Lamarpara area of Teknaf upazila late Monday night.

During the operation, a bulletproof jacket, two helmets, a round of live ammunition, and a local weapon were recovered from a suspicious house in the area. However, the suspects fled upon sensing the presence of the joint forces, and no arrests were made.

The recovered items were handed over to the Teknaf police station for legal proceedings.

He also said that the Coast Guard will continue such operations to maintain the country’s law and order situation.
