Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed that it carried out a ballistic missile attack on US F-35 jets at the Al-Azraq airbase in Jordan. Advanced US F-35 jets are stationed at the Al-Azraq airbase.
According to Iran’s Fars News Agency, the attack was carried out in response to the recent killing of the parents and child of one family in a US strike on Iran’s Keshm island.
The IRGC said a runway and a maintenance hangar were targeted in the attack. Three US F-35 jets were completely destroyed in the missile strike and three more jets were “seriously damaged,” it said. The IRGC also claimed that a number of US personnel and members of the base’s technical and maintenance teams were killed in the attack.
The IRGC said: “There is no place in this region for the child-killing force that brutally kills innocent sleeping families in the middle of the night.” The organisation described the attack as part of the struggle to drive the last US occupier from Islamic land.
The figures above are claims by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and have not been independently verified. No US confirmation of the losses was available.
