Returnee migrant worker electrocuted in Chuadanga

A 36-year-old man who had worked in Singapore, Mohammad Tuhin, has died of electrocution in Alamdanga upazila of Chuadanga. The accident happened on Wednesday morning at Hossainpur Purbapara village in Ailhas union of the upazila.

Mohammad Tuhin was the son of the late Abdus Salam of that village.

The family said he came into contact with electricity through a moment’s carelessness while starting an electric motor to draw water at the house on Wednesday. He was seriously injured. Family members rescued him quickly and took him to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, where the doctor on duty in the emergency department declared him dead after examination.

Local people said Mohammad Tuhin had spent many years working in Singapore. He returned home about two years ago.

The officer in charge of Chuadanga Sadar police station, Mizanur Rahman, confirmed the death and said an unnatural death (UD) case had been recorded at the station. The body was handed over to the family after the legal formalities.
