Wheelchairs have been distributed to physically disabled people in Madna-Parkrishnapur and Hauli unions of Damurhuda upazila, Chuadanga.
The wheelchairs were distributed at separate programs around noon Monday, August 17, funded through allocations from the 2025-26 fiscal year’s Union Development Assistance Fund.
Chuadanga-2 MP and district Jamaat Ameer Md Ruhul Amin, as chief guest, handed the wheelchairs to the disabled recipients. Also present were Upazila Executive Officer Lovely Yasmin, along with local BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders.
The chief guest said standing by disadvantaged people and those with special needs is a moral duty for everyone. Both the government and affluent, conscious members of society need to step forward to improve their quality of life, he said.
