At least 73,098 people have been killed and 173,571 wounded in Israeli strikes on the besieged Gaza Strip, the territory’s health ministry said in its latest daily update on Monday.
In the past 24 hours, five people were killed and seven wounded in Israeli strikes, the ministry said. Two more bodies were recovered from rubble, and three others who died recently were also recorded.
Israeli military operations have continued in Gaza despite a ceasefire that took effect in October last year. Since that ceasefire, at least 1,072 people have been killed and 3,463 wounded, according to health ministry figures.
