CHOUGACHHA — A training workshop on inclusive education for teachers and school management committee members was held in Jashore’s Chougachha upazila. Organized by the Ashraf Foundation, the workshop took place Wednesday morning at the upazila primary teachers’ association building.
The workshop was chaired by Rahidul Islam Khan, senior assistant teacher at Chougachha Kamil Madrasa.
The session was moderated by Ashish Kumar Chatterjee, project coordinator at the Ashraf Foundation.
Speakers included Mostafizur Rahman, upazila primary education officer; S.M. Bazlur Rashid, secondary education officer; Kamal Ahmed, head teacher of the Model Secondary School; Nazrul Islam, field trainer at the foundation; and Johora Khatun, among others.
Heads of secondary schools, primary schools and madrasas across the upazila attended the workshop. The central discussion focused on introducing a uniform education system at all levels of educational institutions in the country for all students, including those with physical disabilities, mental disabilities, transgender students, gifted students, less-gifted students and students at religious institutions. The workshop was implemented with support from two organizations, Liliane Fonds and Centre for Disability in Development.
