World champions Argentina land in Kansas City ahead of World Cup

World champions Argentina have set foot on host-nation United States soil on a mission to defend their World Cup crown. The special aircraft carrying the Albiceleste landed in Kansas City at 10 p.m. Bangladesh time on Sunday, with most of the squad on board.

Lionel Messi’s side has chosen Kansas City as its main base camp ahead of the tournament. It is here that Lionel Scaloni’s men will open their campaign against Algeria on the morning of June 17. World Cup fever gripped the city the moment the world champions arrived.
