WASHINGTON — The ongoing conflict with Iran could end if Tehran accepts the proposed terms, U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday.

Trump made the comments in a post on Truth Social, the social media platform he owns.

Warning Tehran, Trump said that if Iran did not accept an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the United States would resume strikes on the country. Those strikes, he said, would be carried out with “greater scale and intensity” than before.

In the post, Trump said that if Iran complied with the conditions, Operation Epic Fury would end and the active blockade would be lifted, reopening the Strait of Hormuz to Iran and to all shipping.

“If they do not agree, then the bombing will resume, and it will be with much greater scale and intensity than before,” Trump said.
