US forces have carried out a strike in the mountainous area of Khorramabad in Iran’s western Lorestan province. The country’s state television, IRIB, confirmed the strike.
In a report on Tuesday, July 21, IRIB said the strike hit a facility in the hilly area around Khorramabad city, though no details were given about the target, according to Anadolu Agency. No casualties or significant damage had been reported so far.
The United States has intensified military strikes against Iran since last week, and Iran in turn has been striking US military bases and installations in various Middle Eastern countries.
The United States and Iran had signed a memorandum of understanding in June, mediated by Pakistan, but military tensions between the two have risen again despite it.
