Iran’s atomic energy agency has said the United States struck the construction site of the Darkhovin nuclear power plant. The agency said several US missiles had hit the under-construction Darkhovin nuclear power plant project in the country’s Khuzestan province. Citing local media on Sunday, the agency said the attack happened at around 3:39am local time. In a statement, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran strongly condemned the US strike. It did not immediately give details of the extent of damage or whether there were any casualties. Construction of the Darkhovin nuclear power plant began in 2022 and it is considered one of Iran’s most important nuclear power-generation projects.
