Iran has managed to present itself to the world as a “tough and invincible power,” the country’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, has said. His remarks were reported by Al Jazeera.

At a televised news conference, Araghchi said: “I have heard this many times from the foreign ministers and senior officials of various countries — ‘You Iranians have performed a miracle; you have astonished the whole world.’”

He added: “No one imagined that Iran could mount a resistance against the United States like this.” He noted that the United States had had the full backing of Israel, the Western world and several other countries.
