Dhaka:

Two world records fell on the same day at the T20 World Cup African regional qualifier as Rwanda’s Hamza Khan hit an unbeaten 164 off 65 balls and Botswana paceman Nabeel Master took six wickets for two runs.

Khan’s innings against Ivory Coast set a record for the highest individual score by a batsman from an Associate Member nation in men’s Twenty20 international cricket, surpassing the previous mark of 160 by Spain’s Mohammad Ihsan.

It is also the second-highest individual score in T20 international history, behind Australia’s Aaron Finch, who scored 172.

Opening the innings with Khan, Didier Ndikubwimana scored 69 off 45 balls. Rwanda finished on 288 for 2 from their 20 overs.

Ivory Coast were bowled out for 17, handing Rwanda a 271-run victory.

In another match the same day, Botswana faced Mali and paceman Nabeel Master took the spotlight. Mali batted first and were dismissed for 24, with Master taking six wickets.

Master conceded only two runs in 2.4 overs, one of the most economical six-wicket hauls in men’s T20 international cricket. He claimed his wickets in pairs, turning the match decisively in Botswana’s favor as they cruised to victory.
