The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has set new gold prices in the domestic market. Under the new decision, the price of gold jewellery, including VAT, has been cut by up to Tk 3,266 per bhori.
The new prices took effect from 10am on Monday.
BAJUS said the decision was taken at a meeting of its Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Monday morning.
Under the new prices, the best-quality, 22-carat gold jewellery has been set at Tk 2,25,290 per bhori, including VAT, down from Tk 2,28,556 previously.
The price of 21-carat gold has been set at Tk 2,15,142 per bhori, including VAT; 18-carat at Tk 1,84,758 per bhori; and traditional-method gold at Tk 1,50,932 per bhori.
While gold prices have been cut, silver prices remain unchanged. The price of 22-carat silver is Tk 4,666 per bhori, 21-carat Tk 4,432 per bhori, 18-carat Tk 3,791 per bhori and traditional-method silver Tk 2,858 per bhori.
