The new year is still roughly four months away. Even so, interest is already growing among devout worshippers over the 2027 calendar — particularly when the holy month of Ramadan might begin and on which day Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be observed.
Based on astronomers’ mathematical calculations, Jordan News has published the probable dates for the holy month of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr in the Islamic year 1448 AH.
However, since the final dates depend on moon sighting, the actual dates for Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr could shift by a day in either direction.
According to the Middle Eastern outlet’s report, Saudi Arabia’s official Hijri calendar website has clarified that Ramadan in 1448 AH will fall within the first third of 2027, with the probable start date being February 8. That date falls on a Monday, according to the calendar.
The report further states that the new moon for the 2027 holy month of Ramadan will be sighted on a Saturday, corresponding to the 29th of Sha’ban 1448 AH. As a result, the eighth month of the Hijri year will be completed at 30 days, ending on February 7 (Sunday). The holy month of Ramadan will then begin the following day, February 8.
Additionally, regarding Eid-ul-Fitr in 2027, the report states that Ramadan in 1448 AH is expected to last 29 days, likely ending on March 8 (Monday) next year. As a result, the following day, March 9 (Tuesday), could be the first day of Eid-ul-Fitr.
