Four people have died of measles and suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours — two from confirmed measles and two from suspected measles. The information was given in a press release sent from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) control room on Saturday (8 August).
It said 677 patients were identified with suspected measles in the past 24 hours, and the total number of measles patients from 15 March to 8 August stood at 135,332.
The number of confirmed measles patients in the past 24 hours was 99, and the total number of confirmed measles patients from 15 March to 8 August was 17,040.
From 15 March to 8 August, 117,444 people were admitted to hospital with suspected measles. Over the same period, 113,200 recovered and were discharged.
In the past 24 hours, two people died of suspected measles, and from 15 March to 8 August a total of 769 children died of suspected measles.
In the past 24 hours, two people died of confirmed measles, and from 15 March to 8 August 98 people died of confirmed measles.
