Real Madrid has taken a firm stance to end long-running speculation over Vinicius Junior’s future, leaving the Brazilian forward two options, according to the Spanish outlet Marca.
Vinicius’s contract runs until June 2027. The report said the player’s representatives had been told he must either renew and stay, or Real would move to sell him this summer.
Talks over a new deal have made no progress for months, with neither side shifting, which has only deepened the uncertainty. Arsenal’s interest in signing him has helped Real reach a decision, and the club no longer wants to delay over the winger’s transfer.
Marca said Real had told Vinicius’s representatives there was no room for any pay rise beyond the current offer or for fresh negotiations. The club’s message is clear: if he accepts the offer, the contract will be renewed; if not, Real is not keen to keep him, wanting to avoid losing him for no transfer fee later.
Despite the tough line, Real still regards Vinicius as an important player in its plans and has offered a significant financial improvement in recognition of his recent contribution. But it will not bend its wage structure for any player, however big a star.
Since returning to the dugout, Jose Mourinho has brought change to Real’s transfer plans, leaving open the question of whether Vinicius would remain a regular starter even if he stays. The possible arrival of Diomande, who can play on both wings, would give Mourinho a strong alternative and reduce reliance on the Brazilian, leaving Vinicius facing a difficult decision about his future.
