Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ali Hossain Fakir met with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) A M M Nasir Uddin on Tuesday, August 18, ahead of the country’s local government elections.
The meeting was held at the Chief Election Commissioner’s office at the Election Building in Agargaon in the capital.
After the meeting, IGP Ali Hossain Fakir told reporters: “We discussed some matters related to the local government elections, including forming a coordination cell for the law-and-order committee and the law-and-order situation in various districts and upazilas.”
The IGP added: “We have been asked to submit a report on the law-and-order situation across the entire country. We will submit it soon.”
