The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (MAUSHI) has issued an urgent directive on installing IP-based CCTV cameras and launching a central online monitoring system in all government and private schools and colleges across the country. The move is aimed at improving the quality of education, ensuring regular classes and student attendance, and strengthening overall security.

Under the directive, issued to all school and college heads in a notice on Friday, the head of every institution must submit the required information about its CCTV and monitoring arrangements through a designated Google form by 4 p.m. on July 13.

The notice said the directorate had decided to launch the central online monitoring system on an urgent basis to improve educational quality, ensure the smooth conduct of classes and attendance, and strengthen security across all institutions under its authority. Institutions that fail to provide the information within the set time will face necessary action under the rules, it added, describing the matter as extremely urgent.
