Joynal Mia (60), a van driver injured when a motorcycle hit his van in Gaibandha’s Sadullapur upazila, has died. He died while undergoing treatment at Rangpur Medical College Hospital at about 6am on Saturday (6 June). Joynal Mia was the son of the late Osman Mia of Kishamat Hamid (Pashchimpara) village in Naldanga union of Sadullapur upazila.
Relatives said Joynal Mia made his living driving an auto-van. At about 8:30pm on 29 May, he was carrying passengers on the Naldanga-Rangpur road when a motorcycle hit the back of his moving van at a place called Kishamat Hamid near his home. He was thrown off and seriously injured, and locals rescued him and admitted him to Rangpur Medical College Hospital around 10:30pm, where he died on Saturday morning. Naldanga union council (UP) chairman Abdur Gafur said he had heard from local people of the death of a man named Joynal Mia in a road accident.
