The government will organize a national-level Holy Quran recitation competition at all educational institutions across the country going forward.
The initiative to introduce the competition at various levels of education is aimed at strengthening students’ moral and religious values, said Dr A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon, minister for education and for primary and mass education. Announcing the plan on June 18, the education minister said the government is working in a coordinated way across all areas of education, and that organizing Quran competitions at educational institutions is part of that effort. He said the initiative is being carried out with the aim of instilling morality, family values and religious values among students.
