Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said there are no talks with the United States at present, only an exchange of messages through mediators. He said direct talks would not resume until Washington paid compensation for violating a memorandum of understanding signed between them.

Araghchi said mediators were still looking for a way to restart talks, but Tehran did not believe talks could resume until the breach of the memorandum was resolved.

“Efforts are under way to create the ground for talks. There is no prospect of talks resuming until the United States corrects its violations,” he said.
