A mobile court was conducted in the Jatrabari area under the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) to ensure the unhindered movement of the public and to keep footpaths and roads free of encroachment.
The drive, led by DSCC Executive Magistrate Mohammad Aminul Islam on Thursday (June 18), cleared all illegal structures and shops built on footpaths and on the road on both sides, stretching from the incoming section of the flyover through Jatrabari to Kajla.
During the drive, five cases were filed against those running businesses by illegally occupying footpaths and roads, and Tk 13,000 in fines was collected from those involved. The footpaths and roads were cleared of encroachment and reopened for public movement.
