A Jubo Dal leader has been hacked to death over prior enmity in Bagharpara upazila of Jashore, according to a complaint. The incident happened at about 11:30 a.m. on Monday (July 13) in front of the vehicle weighing scale beside the Khajura fuel pump in the upazila.
The deceased, Rubel Hossain, 38, was the joint secretary of the Bandabila union Jubo Dal. He was the son of the late Muntaj Dhali of the village near the Khajura fuel pump in the Teli Dhanyapora area of the upazila.
According to local sources, over prior enmity, Rabbi, 26, the son of Abdur Rob of the same area, hacked Rubel Hossain indiscriminately on various parts of his body with a sharp weapon, seriously injuring him. Local people later took Rubel to the emergency department of the 250-bed Jashore General Hospital, where the doctor declared him dead after examination. His body has been kept in the morgue of Jashore hospital. Bagharpara police station officer-in-charge Shah Jamal said efforts were being made to arrest the accused.
