An awareness discussion on implementing Bangla QR, organized by all scheduled banks in Jhenaidah’s Meherpur upazila under the “One Country, One QR” cashless transaction and “Building Cashless Bangladesh” initiatives, was held Thursday.
The event was held Thursday afternoon at the upazila auditorium, chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Sajjad Hossain. Md Sohanur Rahman, Bangladesh Bank’s joint director (JD) for Khulna, delivered remarks as chief guest. Special guest remarks were delivered by Md Rafiqul Islam, assistant officer (RDS) at Meherpur Islami Bank PLC. Others present included Md Mostafizur Rahman, PLC AGM at Meherpur Sonali Bank; Md Mojaharul Islam, PLC representative for Jhenaidah zonal office and Agrani Bank; and Md Ruhul Amin, SAVP and manager at Jhenaidah Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC. Speakers at the event discussed in detail how Bangla QR makes money transactions easy, and how customers can use the QR app to conduct transactions easily without any charges. The event was conducted by Md Jamal Hossain, manager of Meherpur Islami Bank. Bangladesh Bank Khulna provided overall support for the event.
