Three-day national fruit fair opens in Bandarban

A three-day national fruit fair has opened in Bandarban under the theme “We will grow fruit and preserve it for twelve months,” the organizers said.

Deputy Commissioner Md. Saniul Ferdous formally inaugurated the fair by cutting a ribbon on the premises of the deputy director’s office of the Department of Agricultural Extension on Thursday morning (June 18). The event was organized jointly by the Bandarban district administration and the Department of Agricultural Extension.

A meeting was held afterward in the conference room of the deputy director’s office to mark the opening of the national fruit fair.

Deputy Commissioner Md. Saniul Ferdous addressed the inaugural session as chief guest, with Abu Naim Mohammad Saifuddin, deputy director of the Department of Agricultural Extension in Bandarban, in the chair.

Superintendent of Police Md. Ohabul Islam Khandakar attended as special guest, along with farmers.

At the end of the meeting, the guests distributed free saplings to students and farmers.
