Police have recovered the bodies of a married couple from their home in Sharankhola, Bagerhat. The bodies were recovered around 11am on Thursday from a house in Rajoir village of the upazila.

The husband was a fisherman by profession. The couple had two young children, aged five years and two months.

Police said a note was recovered from the scene when the bodies were found, in which it was written that the couple were leaving the world of their own accord and that no one was to blame for their deaths.

Locals said there had long been family discord between the husband and wife, and that the incident might have stemmed from that.

Sharankhola police station officer-in-charge (OC) Rokeya Khanam said police recovered the bodies from the scene after being informed by locals. The two bodies have been sent to the Bagerhat district hospital morgue for autopsy. The actual cause will be known after the autopsy report and the investigation.
